In cannabis concentrate consumption, a dome refers to a glass piece that fits over a nail to trap vapor when dabbing.
Domes capture the vapors released when concentrates are heated on the nail, allowing you to inhale them properly.
Let’s take a closer look at the dome function.
What is a Marijuana Humidity Dome?
A dome is a hollow glass attachment designed to cover the nail on a dab rig when vaporizing cannabis extracts. It features a wide bottom chamber that fits over the nail and a mouthpiece on top to inhale from.
Domes work by covering the nail during heating and dabbing to contain the cannabis vapors released, preventing waste or dispersion.
Once you finish inhaling, remove the dome so any remaining vapors don’t get trapped and stain the glass.
Domes come in various styles, the most common being 90-degree angle joints or bubble caps that rest directly on the nail.
Some dab rigs now use “domeless” nails that don’t require separate domes. But for traditional nail setups, a quality borosilicate glass dome remains an essential accessory for optimal dabbing.
