What are rolling papers?
Table of Contents
Rolling papers are small sheets used to roll cannabis or tobacco into joints, spliffs or blunts by hand.
Rolling papers come in a variety of materials, sizes, and thicknesses to suit different consumer preferences.
The three main types are made from hemp, rice, and cellulose.
Hemp rolling papers are made from hemp plants and have an earthy flavor. Rice papers use rice starch and are thin and translucent.
Cellulose papers are see-through and burn slowly. Popular rolling paper brands include RAW, Zig Zag, OCB, Elements and Juicy Jays, which come in flavors like grape and strawberry.
How to use rolling papers?
To use rolling papers, place grounded cannabis on the paper and evenly distribute it in a line. If adding a filter tip, attach this to one end.
Hold the paper between thumbs and index fingers and begin rolling it into a cylindrical joint shape, tucking the paper edge and sealing it with your fingers or tongue.
Twist or pinch the end to close it off completely.
The adhesive strip on the edge of some papers can also seal the joint. Roll the paper back and forth using index fingers and thumbs to shape and pack the joint.
Be careful not to tear the paper or fill it too tightly. The joint should have room to allow airflow for smooth hits. Use a poker tool to pack the cannabis down if needed.
Rolling papers provide an easy way to prepare joints for a quick and enjoyable marijuana experience.
